medical-surgical faculty–two positions

Primary Responsibilities

• Face-to-face, blended, and/or online teaching and clinical supervision of pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students, primarily in medical surgical settings
• Use of simulation and technology based teaching/learning strategies
• Curricular assessment, revision, and evaluation
• Student recruitment, retention and mentoring
• Ongoing scholarly activity
• Participation in committee work, public service, and professional organizations

Required Qualifications

• Education:
o For Tenure Track position: Doctorate in Nursing or related field and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
o For Regular Non-Tenure Track position: MSN with ongoing progress toward or written commitment to complete a doctorate in nursing or related field
o Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university
• Current, active Missouri RN license or eligibility for Missouri licensure
• Recent, within the last five years, teaching experience (theory or clinical) Strong preference for medical-surgical teaching experience
• Minimum three years recent clinical experience in acute care, medical-surgical nursing (faculty or staff)
• Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with students, faculty, staff and the community
• Demonstrated commitment to working with multi-cultural populations
• Demonstrated awareness of issues affecting women and minorities
