The Section for Long-Term Care Regulation (SLCR) has an immediate opening for a Facility Advisory Nurse II. The position is located in the Jefferson City/Cole County SLCR Region 6 Office.
This is a professional position participating as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to survey long-term care facilities for compliance with state regulations and compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations for those facilities. The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills. The applicant should be highly organized and detail-oriented. SLCR Region 6 includes 20 counties, approximately 81 Certified Skilled Nursing Facilities/Nursing Facilities and approximately 134 State Licensed only Residential Care Facilities/Assisted Living Facilities/Intermediate Care Facilities/Adult Day Care Facilities.
Duties of the Region 6 Facility Advisory Nurse II will include, but not limited to:
• Conduct surveys, licensure inspections, complaint investigations and other activities as assigned and in accordance with federal and state policies and procedures.
• Communicate information, both verbally and in writing, in a manner that is understandable, legible, professional, courteous, respectful and consistent with regulatory requirements.
• Actively and effectively participate in processes as a team member by attending any scheduled team meetings, assuming a fair share of the workload, and presenting relevant information necessary to identify problems and determine compliance as a team.
• Accept on-call duty as assigned on weekends and holidays on a rotating basis which may require a visit to a facility to investigate a high priority complaint during the on-call time.
Normal work hours for the position are 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. (flex time is allowed with prior approval). The position will require travel throughout the state with overnight stays. The position will also require attendance at in-state training and at least one week of federal training within the first year. The position requires you pass the federal Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) within two years of date of hire and maintain current Missouri Registered Nurse license. This position qualifies for telecommuter status after training is complete.
