Our Home has a need for a Director of Nursing Services, someone who is compassionate, knowledgeable and experienced. We’re looking for someone who’s dependable and willing to always put patient care first, with strong communication and leadership skills. Being able to prioritize, manage, and delegate are three important and necessary skills in this role that will serve you well. This individual must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, staff, vendors, medical director, and other healthcare agencies.
This is a religious work environment. Although, you do not have to be Catholic to work here, you should be comfortable being and working around others who are, who openly express their faith daily, through prayers and mass. The spiritual aspect is highly important to our residents at this stage of life and we attempt to meet this need along with all other health concerns.
The Director of Nursing Services will plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
The Director of Nursing Services is delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out assigned duties. In the absence of the Medical Director the DNS is charged with carrying out the resident care policies.
To be considered for this opportunity, we’re looking for the following credentials:
· RN in good standing, in this State.
· Five years’ experience in Geriatric Nursing, preferred.
· Nursing Management experience preferred
· Proven leadership skills required
Typical hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and must be available to work a rotating weekend on-call schedule, and on Holidays. Must have flexibility to work additional shifts as needed.
