Under the direction of the Dean, the guidance of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with the classroom nursing instructors, the Academic Coach will provide targeted support, instruction, and intervention for nursing students including those in need of remediation. The Academic Coach will conduct ongoing informal and formal assessments to identify needs and monitor progress while interpreting assessments in order to design appropriate remediation and instruction. The Academic Coach will guide nursing students to the successful achievement of their academic goals at the University.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s in nursing required; Master’s degree preferred. Current/unencumbered Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Missouri. At least two years of academic or clinical nursing practice Knowledge of retention strategies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan, organize, and implement responsibilities effectively. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
