CMS has announced its intention to proceed with implementation of its Phase 2 regulations and Interpretive Guidelines as previously recommended effective November, 2017. CMS is also releasing details of its newly updated Survey Process and is beginning to train all state and federal surveyors throughout the nation. All of these changes provide an excellent opportunity for long term care providers to gain an equal footing with all state and federal surveyors. At the conclusion of the program, each attendee will be able to:
1) Identify all Phase 2 new regulations in their new format and understand the corresponding Interpretive Guidelines.
2) Identify all of the key components of the updated Survey Process and how it applies to our facility.
3) Identify successful strategies for preparing our facility for the Phase 2 updates and new survey process.
