Combating Compassion Fatigue

Purpose: To learn to identify differences between burnout, vicarious trauma, caregiver stress, and compassion fatigue. This session looks at wellness as an ethical mandate for those in the helping professions and provides techniques for maintaining one’s mental health.

Legal Update: An Overview of the Rapidly Changing Employment Laws Over the Last Year

Purpose: To discuss issues related to the FLSA, FMLA, ACA, and social media concerns related to employee management to name just a few. Major decisions issued by the US Supreme Court and the Missouri courts that impact employment issues will also be discussed.

Wounds: Focus on the Whole Wound Process, Not the Hole in the Process
