SESSIONS FOR FACULTY AND NURSING STUDENTS!
In this workshop participants will examine best practices for writing test items using a step by step approach incorporating concepts and standards. Faculty will learn how to use the Step-by-Step Approach to transition traditional questions into the Next Generation NCLEX® (NGN) format that can immediately be adapted. The “SAFETY” Model will be used for test item analysis to determine if appropriate standards are evaluated. Test item analysis will be reviewed for reliability, difficulty, and discrimination to help guide test item revision. The workshop includes group activities.
As a result of this activity, the learner will be able to self-report how to:
- Explore the impact of novice, multigenerational learners and neuroscience on content mastery
- Review the current NCLEX®RN and NCLEX®PN Test Plans.
- Ensure graduate success on the licensure exam and clinical practice by mapping the standards. (NCLEX®, safety and practice, etc.) to the “SAFETY” Model using valid and reliable evaluation measures.
- Apply and practice strategies using an easy “Step-by-Step Approach” to revise test questions.
