Program: Registration 8:30 a.m., Program 9 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Purpose: To identify and implement appropriate steps for effective infection control measures that allow for the provision of safe quality care to long-term care residents. This program will provide an overview of infection control, most common infectious outbreaks, barriers to appropriate infection control and prevention.
Objectives:
1. Identify various infection control measures.
2. Examine the most common infections in this patient population.
3. Discuss elements of early identification/prevention of infective outbreaks.
