This webinar is designed for individuals with minimal ICD-10 coding experience, and will cover information on Navigating the Code Book, Characteristics of ICD-10-CM Codes; Placeholders, 7th characters (Episode of Care), Overview of Coding Guidelines and Conventions, Sequencing the principal diagnosis, Complications/Comorbidities, Practice Exercises. Attendees will participate in case scenarios and address PDPM coding specifics.
Note – attendees should have an ICD-10 book as it will help with the practice cases.

Chris has worked at large and mid-sized health care facilities in many roles where she gained a thorough understanding of health information management. Her coding career includes working hospitals as both an employee and a consultant. Her work with Skilled Nursing Facilities includes medical record compliance reviews and ICD-10 coding support, audits and education. She helped author education programs for ICD-10 coding in preparation for PDPM, and has served as an instructor for ICD-10 education.
