Target Audience: NHA, RN, LPN, AD, OT, PT, RD/DTR, SW
CE Approved: NHA (5 hours; Patient Care)
Program: Registration 8:30 a.m., Program 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. , Lunch 12 – 1 p.m.

Purpose: To present the modalities of alternative therapies, to increase the knowledge base of persons in all areas of health care. Positive choices for those entertaining alternative therapies, and positive energy to persons employed in long- term care setting will also be discussed.

1.  Define holistic medicine and its integration in health care in all socio-economic arenas.
2.  Discuss the history of healing traditions and principles thereof.
3.  Express the importance of life style, food and nutrition, transformation, sleep, exercise, relationships, and creative expression as they play a factor in the holistic approach to health.
4.  Discuss meditation and imagery, essential oils, therapeutic touch, acupuncture and acupressure, and herbal medicine.
