Target Audience: Nursing Home Administrators, RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Social Workers, Activity Directors, Occupational and Physical Therapist, Dietary, Diabetes Educators
CE Approved: Nursing Home Administrators (5 administrative hours)
Program: Registration 8:30 a.m., Program 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Lunch 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Purpose: To provide participants with a system and process to build integrated leadership throughout their organization.  Focus will be on HUB Leadership which connects the separate functions across the care continuum and facility administration to create a cohesive, single thread delivery to residents and patients.


  • Identify the keys to optimize the discreet areas within the organization with focus on how to enhance their unified delivery of services.
  • Discuss how allowing the negative impact of segregation debilitates leadership and staff leading to negative impact on care to residents and patients.
  • Learn how to reframe leadership approach and thought to embrace an integrated philosophy and execution to enhance facility operation, improve care and create a more positive environment for leadership and staff.
  • Understand the four cornerstones of being a Hub Leader – competence; connection; conversation and consequence.
  • Identify their “North Star”, which is the immoveable value to which they navigate their leadership for the benefit of patients and residents.

Speaker:  David Porter, JD, CHC, CMQ/OE, CBRM, CPP-C. For nearly three decades, David Porter has worked with business leaders across multiple industries teaching strategies and tactics to create sustainable success.  David believes risk prevention is better than repair; integrated is better than separate; kind is better than harsh.  He coaches, counsels and supports business leaders every day to become what he calls “Hub Leaders” – people at the center of the wheel that serve customers and colleagues from a place of value.  He also teaches master’s level students these same attributes as an adjunct professor at Webster University.
