Program: Registration 8:30 a.m., Program 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Lunch 12 – 1 p.m.
Purpose: Being a leader and being a supervisor take a different set of skills and tools, or do they? Trust, communication, and mastering the art of tough conversations are certainly a part of both leadership and supervision. This program will explore skills and tools that lend themselves to effective leadership and supervision. You will walk away with techniques to try the moment you return to the work setting.
1. Name three ways to build trust with employees.
2. Learn two effective communication techniques and the impact they have.
3. Outline the steps in having a successful, tough, workplace conversation.
Speaker: Marty Martin-Forman, ACSW, LCSW, Owner, Martin-Forman Consulting and Retired Chief Operating Officer for Fulton State Hospital, Fulton, Missouri. Ms. Martin-Forman has 37 years of mental health experience, serving in administrative, supervisory, and clinical capacities. She is a part of a team supervising the demolition of the old State Hospital buildings and the design and construction of a new facility.
