Program:  Registration 8:30 a.m., Program 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Lunch 12 – 1 p.m.

Purpose: To give an understanding of specific mental illnesses and how to communicate with individuals in crisis. Being confronted with a person in psychiatric crisis can be frightening and overwhelming. This workshop will help resolve those feelings.

Objectives

  • Analyze ways to communicate with individuals in crisis.
  • Compare and contrast four major psychiatric situations.
  • Identify how to communicate in an effective manner.
